Young Wine, Good Times!

The schedule had been tight that day. Way too many things had to be attended to with very little transition time in between. I sat and wrote out the back-up line of 1/2 hour increments trying to figure out where to be when and what to have with me. My brain just wanted to go to the beach.

After mulling it over for a bit, I cancelled one non-essential and let that go for another day. Sent my apologies, asked for more time, and gave my self some more breathing space in the obligations. Everything feels like paperwork these days. The moment you finish one set, another one seems to be lined right up. You would think with technology making our lives easier, that we would have more time. Turns out, keeping the technology functioning correctly is a full time job.

Ay, yi, yi. Maybe time to get into sewing or Chinese printmaking….

I doubt the paperwork would reduce much, though. Always something.

My new goal was Portugal and Spain. Everywhere I went these days, people were singing the praises of Portuguese wine. So amazing and such a good price! I had to dive in.

So, off to the store to pickup a light, fresh, fizzy, and zesty Vinho Verde.

I had been searching for a good wine to go with tacos at our beach vacation coming up. I had heard that would do the trick really well.

It was perfection! I love me some sour cream on my tacos and something about that little spice, tortilla, and the sour cream with the tropical notes of the wine made it amazing.

The Vinho Verde word on the bottle is actually a region in Portugal, not a grape. Since all of Portugal is by the ocean, the wines go so well with seafood as well.

My next project is to find some authentic recipes to go with for next time. The grapes are native and the names you don’t see other places in the world. I just love the unique vibe of Portugal. I had heard they have visas for remote workers. Might have to look into that!

I knew the next day would be full of to-do’s as well but that evening I took a moment to enjoy the brilliance of a Vinho Verde white.

Cheers!
